New Year Reflections

The year ends. A year begins.

Or has it not been one long 21-month year that began back in March 2020, and keeps rolling over.

Regardless, a clear time for reflection and introspection; for reckoning even.

A time to gird the soul with resolution and renewed conviction.

And certainly, a time for appreciation, gratitude and solidarity; for health, family, friends and community.

Here is to a 2022 which discards the chasms of inequity and discrimination that have haunted how we have approached the pandemic to date and recognizes and embraces that we must come together in true global community.

Here is to a 2022 in which we each bring reconciliation and climate justice into the heart of our choices, decisions, actions and how we live our lives.

Here is to a 2022 in which we put human rights first; no matter what.

Absolutely a 2022 of being there with and for each other; a 2022 of laughter and music.

A year that opens up to brighter light ahead.
